About the Aidi
The Aidi, or Atlas Mountain Dog, is a rugged working breed from Morocco traditionally used by Berber peoples to guard flocks, camps and property against predators. Powerfully built with a dense protective coat, it is a vigilant, courageous protector rather than a herding dog, relying on strength and alertness. It is energetic, loyal and deeply devoted to its family while naturally suspicious of intruders. The Aidi suits active, experienced owners who can provide a job, firm leadership, space and consistent socialization to channel its strong guarding instincts safely.
Every dog is an individual — genetics, socialization, health, training, and environment matter more than breed averages.
