About the Cesky Fousek
The Cesky Fousek is a versatile wire-haired pointing breed from the Czech Republic, prized as an all-round gundog for pointing, retrieving, and tracking on land and in water. Athletic and rugged, it has a dense, harsh wire coat with a distinctive beard and eyebrows, typically in brown or brown roan. Bred for endurance and a keen nose, it is a passionate hunter with strong game-finding ability across varied terrain. Intelligent, trainable, and eager to please, it forms close bonds with its handler and family. It is calm and affectionate at home but needs substantial daily exercise and purposeful work to stay balanced and content.
Every dog is an individual — genetics, socialization, health, training, and environment matter more than breed averages.
