Goldador Puppies for Sale
About the Goldador
The Goldador is a designer cross between a Golden Retriever and a Labrador Retriever, two of the most popular family and working breeds. Because both parents are large, biddable retrievers, this hybrid tends to be more predictable than many crosses, but it is still not a standardized breed, so size, coat, and drive vary by individual. Expect a friendly, energetic, highly trainable dog that needs substantial daily exercise and mental work and thrives on being part of the family. Buyers should plan for a big, shedding, food-motivated companion and confirm that both parents have completed the joint and eye screening standard for retrievers.
Every dog is an individual — genetics, socialization, health, training, and environment matter more than breed averages.

Where this breed shines
- Friendly, patient, and typically excellent with children and other dogs
- Highly trainable and eager to work, popular for service and assistance roles
- More predictable in size and temperament than many hybrids because both parents are similar retrievers
Things to consider
- Still a hybrid, so exact size, coat, and energy vary and are not guaranteed
- Needs a lot of daily exercise and mental stimulation and can become destructive if under-exercised
- Sheds noticeably and is very food-motivated, so weight and joints must be managed
History
The Goldador arose from crossing two of the most trusted retriever breeds, the Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever, and gained attention in the late 20th century for guide and assistance work. It is a hybrid, not a kennel-club breed, though both parents are highly standardized. This shared retriever background makes the cross somewhat more predictable than most.
Temperament
Goldadors are generally friendly, calm, and highly trainable, with a strong desire to work and please. They tend to be patient with children and sociable with other animals. Because both parents are similar retrievers, temperament is often more consistent than in many crosses.
