About the Miniature American Shepherd
The Miniature American Shepherd is a small herding dog developed in the United States from diminutive Australian Shepherds, prized by riders and ranchers for packing full-size working drive into a compact, travel-friendly frame. Bright, agile, and intensely people-focused, the Mini learns quickly and shines in agility, herding, and canine sports, but that same brainpower means a bored dog will happily herd children, pets, and passing bicycles. He forms deep bonds with his family, tends to be reserved with strangers, and carries a moderate double coat that needs regular brushing and seasonal upkeep. Give him a job, daily exercise, and steady training, and he is an endlessly loyal, adaptable companion.
Every dog is an individual — genetics, socialization, health, training, and environment matter more than breed averages.
