About the Peruvian Inca Orchid

The Peruvian Inca Orchid is an elegant, ancient sighthound-type breed from Peru, best known in its hairless form, though a coated variety also exists. Slender and graceful with warm, smooth skin that can be solid or mottled, the hairless dogs radiate body heat and were prized in pre-Incan cultures. Coming in small, medium and large sizes, the breed is lively, alert and affectionate, deeply bonded to its family yet often reserved with strangers. Agile and quick with a moderate prey drive, it is sensitive and intelligent. Hairless dogs need skin care and sun and cold protection, while all Peruvian Inca Orchids appreciate companionship and gentle handling.

Every dog is an individual — genetics, socialization, health, training, and environment matter more than breed averages.
