About the Picardy Spaniel
The Picardy Spaniel (Epagneul Picard) is a versatile French gundog from the Picardy region of northern France, bred to hunt, point and retrieve in the marshes and woodlands. Medium-sized and robust with a wavy, mottled gray-brown and roan coat, feathered legs and long, well-set ears, it combines an attractive appearance with practical field ability. Calm and gentle by nature, the Picardy Spaniel is affectionate, sociable and biddable, forming close bonds with its family and doing well with children and other dogs. A tireless, water-loving worker with a good nose, it needs regular exercise, mental engagement and companionship to thrive as a family gundog.
Every dog is an individual — genetics, socialization, health, training, and environment matter more than breed averages.
