About the Xoloitzcuintli

The Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless Dog) is one of the world's oldest and rarest breeds, revered by ancient Mesoamerican cultures as a sacred guide and healer. Coming in hairless and coated varieties and three sizes (toy, miniature, and standard), the Xolo has an elegant, primitive build, warm smooth skin, and a calm, watchful demeanor. Deeply loyal and attentive, it bonds closely with its family while remaining aloof with strangers, making a fine watchdog. Hardy and low-maintenance, the hairless variety needs skin and sun care, and the breed's intelligence and moderate energy suit thoughtful, committed owners.

Every dog is an individual — genetics, socialization, health, training, and environment matter more than breed averages.
