Sarah
Hi! I’m Sarah, the breeder behind Sunshines Cavapoos & Sunshines Pomeranians. 🐾❤️ Animals have been a huge part of my life for many years. I have worked in the veterinary field since 2009 as a Certified Veterinary Assistant, and that experience plays a big role in how I raise and care for every puppy born here. I’m passionate about raising healthy, happy, well-socialized puppies with wonderful temperaments. My puppies aren’t simply raised in a kennel—they are raised hands-on as part of our family. From birth, I spend countless hours caring for them, handling them, watching their development and getting to know their individual personalities. I believe choosing a breeder should be about more than finding a cute puppy. You should feel comfortable knowing who is raising your puppy and how much care is going into those important first weeks of life. Communication with my puppy families is extremely important to me. Families receive weekly photos and videos, and I love letting them watch their babies grow from tiny newborns into playful little puppies ready to begin their next adventure. Before leaving us, our puppies receive age-appropriate veterinary care, vaccinations, deworming and parasite screening. We also begin early potty and crate-training foundations to help make the transition into their new homes easier. One of my favorite parts of breeding is watching families finally meet the puppy they’ve been following for weeks. Many of my puppy families stay in touch and send updates long after their puppy goes home, and I absolutely love getting to watch them grow. ❤️ When you choose a puppy from Sunshines, you’re not just choosing a puppy—you’re choosing a breeder who genuinely cares about where that puppy came from, where they’re going, and the life they’ll have with their new family.

Breeding program
☀️ About Our Program 🐾 Welcome to Sunshines Cavapoos & Sunshines Pomeranians! We are a small, family-raised breeding program dedicated to raising happy, healthy, well-socialized puppies that are prepared to become cherished members of their new families. ❤️ Our puppies are raised hands-on around our family, children, other animals, and the everyday sights and sounds of a home. We put a lot of time and love into each litter from the moment they are born until the day they leave for their forever homes. 🐾 Our Cavapoos are raised with a focus on wonderful temperaments, beautiful coats, and loving companion personalities. 🐾 Our Pomeranians are AKC registered, and we strive to produce beautiful, healthy Pomeranians with the sweet, outgoing personalities we love about the breed. Our puppies receive: • Age-appropriate vaccinations • Routine deworming • Veterinary examination before leaving • Parasite screening • Flea, tick & heartworm prevention as age appropriate • Early potty-training introduction • Crate-training introduction • Lots of handling, socialization & love ❤️ We provide our families with weekly puppy updates, including photos and videos, so they can watch their puppy grow. Puppy selections are made around 5–6 weeks of age, allowing us time to watch each puppy’s personality and development and help families find the puppy that best fits them. Our goal isn’t simply to raise beautiful puppies. We want to raise confident, loving companions and give our families a wonderful experience from the day they join our waiting list through the day they finally bring their puppy home. ☀️ Sunshines Cavapoos & Sunshines Pomeranians Raised with love. Raised with purpose. Raised to be family. 🐾❤️

🐾 Birth–2 weeks: gentle handling They’re not ready for true socialization yet, but you can begin short daily handling. Gently touch their paws, ears, mouth, tail and body, briefly hold them in different positions, and introduce mild differences in texture and temperature. Keep sessions very short and make sure puppies stay warm and return to mom quickly. 🐶 2–4 weeks: introduce their world As their eyes and ears open and they begin walking, gradually introduce household sounds such as the TV, vacuum at a distance, doors, talking, music and kitchen noises. Give them different safe surfaces—carpet, blankets, rubber mats, puppy pads, grass-like turf—and safe toys with different textures. Start letting them interact gently with different trusted people, including supervised children. Everything should be voluntary and positive. ❤️ 4–6 weeks: the big socialization period This is when I’d really expand your program. Introduce puppies individually and as a litter to things they’ll encounter in their future homes: crates with the doors open, car rides, grooming brushes, nail handling, collars, household noises, umbrellas, boxes, different flooring and short periods away from their littermates. You can also introduce healthy, vaccinated, puppy-friendly dogs you know, but avoid unknown dogs and high-traffic dog areas because the puppies aren’t fully vaccinated. Start rewarding puppies for coming when called and calmly accepting handling. You can also begin your potty-training routine by creating separate sleeping, playing and potty areas. ☀️ 6–8 weeks: prepare for real life Continue everything above and add short individual sessions every day. Practice brief crate time, being alone for a few minutes, grooming, brushing, touching feet, looking in ears/mouth, wearing a collar or lightweight harness, riding in the car and experiencing normal household activity.
Health & veterinary care
- Age-appropriate vaccinations
- Deworming completed
- Health records provided
The health and well-being of every puppy I raise is extremely important to me. With my background working in the veterinary field, I take a hands-on and preventative approach to caring for my puppies from birth until they leave for their new homes. Puppies are monitored closely for growth, development, appetite, weight and overall health throughout their time with me. Before going home, our puppies receive: • Routine deworming beginning at an appropriate age • Age-appropriate vaccinations • Veterinary examination • Fecal/parasite screening • Age-appropriate parasite prevention • Regular weight and development monitoring • Proper nutrition throughout their development • Individual health records for their new family We also focus on cleanliness, proper nutrition, early socialization and limiting unnecessary exposure to unknown dogs and high-risk public areas while our puppies are completing their vaccination series. Each new family receives information about their puppy’s veterinary care and what will be needed to continue their vaccination and preventative-care schedule after going home. Our goal is to give every puppy the healthiest possible start and provide our families with the information they need to continue that care throughout their puppy’s life. ❤️🐾 Parents are health tested
